I want to add some extra adventure into my runs this year, so Mont Blanc was a no brainer! As registration for the race is still open, I thought I would share some information about the run in Chamonix to try and encourage others to join in the fun! Holidays…running…woo!! Get in!
Here we go again…another adventure! This combines my very favourite things. Racing. Running. Holiday. What more can you want? Well in my case, there is always my other passion…food! But it goes without saying that there will be plenty of that on the menu. Especially with a 10k race day and no doubt a monster amount of exploring on the days surrounding the event.

I have never ventured to the Alps before now and it was definitely one on my list of areas to visit, but Chamonix only became apparent to me after seeing so many Instagram runners post amazing snaps from the area. Countless times I have seen uploads with that stunning backdrop of the beautiful French mountains, but until recently, I was unsure where it was.
The two people who I really need to thank online are Finnrunner and challengesophie on Instagram. Sophie also has a great site, challengesophie.com which has some awesome motivation on there! First Finn’s images from Asic’s Beat The Sun challenge had me dying to go and run in Chamonix, and Sophie has some great blogs about the area as she lives there herself.
This is why I love sharing my passion for running on social media. First I started following fellow runners, then before you know it I am booking races in amazing places I may have never discovered. It is frickin’ awesome!
I cannot wait to see what Chamonix and Mont Blanc in June! And I can’t wait to write my review and hopefully spread the word about a sensational 10k race!
For anyone who wishes to take part in the Mont Blanc 10k, or any of the other runs on that marathon weekend, just visit www.montblancmarathon.net and get yourself signed up! A quick flight to Geneva followed by a short transfer and you are ready for a whole new kind of 10k! Well, from what I hear anyway.
Bring on France!
